The government has announced five student-focused measures to help ensure the smooth conduct of the ongoing Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations across Bangladesh.

The information was shared on Wednesday, July 15, in a post published on the verified Facebook page of Education Minister Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon.

According to the post, HSC and equivalent examinations were held peacefully at 2,583 examination centres across the country, except under the Chattogram Education Board. It said weather conditions had improved and students attended the examinations with strong participation and interest.

The post said the government introduced several timely measures after adverse weather created challenges for conducting the examinations. It added that the decision to continue the examinations according to the existing schedule, except under the Chattogram Board, was made after consulting divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, chairmen of all education boards, officials of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, and other stakeholders.

The ministry also instructed local administrations to respond quickly if transport problems or waterlogging affect any examination centre. According to the post, local authorities may change examination centres, postpone examinations, or extend examination time if necessary.

The government also announced a special arrangement for students who could not attend any subject because of adverse weather or other unavoidable related reasons. Those students will be allowed to take the missed examination using the common question paper prepared for the postponed examination under the Chattogram Education Board. The examination will be held on the date and time set by the Ministry of Education.

In addition, the ministry said all examinees will receive full marks for the two incorrect questions in the Physics First Paper examination. The post also said the individuals responsible for preparing the faulty question paper have been temporarily suspended.

The measures are intended to minimise disruption to the examination process while helping students complete their examinations under fair and practical arrangements. The Ministry of Education is expected to continue monitoring the situation and issue further instructions if conditions require additional action.
