Chattogram Board HSC Exams Resume Today After Weather Disruption
The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under the Chattogram Education Board resumed on Monday, July 27, 2026, after being postponed because of heavy rain, flooding, and severe weather conditions.
At the same time, examinations also continued under the country's other nine general education boards, the Madrasa Education Board, and the Technical Education Board according to the previously announced routine.
Under the examination schedule, students of the nine general education boards are sitting for Civics and Good Governance First Paper, Biology First Paper (Theoretical), and Business Organization and Management First Paper from 10:00 am. The Food and Nutrition First Paper examination is being held in the afternoon.
The Madrasa Education Board began the day's Alim examinations with Islamic History, Physics Second Paper (Theoretical), and Tajweed Second Paper (Mujabbid Mahir Division). Meanwhile, the Technical Education Board started the HSC (BMT) examination with Human Resource Management-1.
A total of 1,270,583 candidates have registered for this year's HSC and equivalent examinations under the nine general education boards, the Madrasa Education Board, and the Technical Education Board. Among them, 99,688 candidates are under the Chattogram Education Board.

The Chattogram Board is conducting examinations at 114 centres. Across Bangladesh, the examinations are taking place at 2,697 centres involving 9,439 educational institutions.
The Chattogram Board postponed its remaining HSC and equivalent examinations in early July because of flooding, damaged road communication, and concerns about the physical and mental condition of students in affected areas.
On July 16, the board announced that the remaining examinations would remain suspended until further notice. The same decision also affected the remaining Alim examinations under the Madrasa Education Board and the HSC (BMT), HSC (Vocational), and Diploma in Commerce examinations under the Technical Education Board.
After conditions improved, the Ministry of Education approved the resumption of examinations. Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr. A N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milan announced on July 23 that the postponed examinations under the Chattogram Education Board would restart from July 27.
According to the announcement, students will sit for the remaining examinations following the regular examination schedule now in effect. However, the examinations that had already been completed before the suspension will be held again later under a new schedule to be announced by the authorities.
The Chattogram Education Board had suspended HSC and equivalent examinations from July 8. During that period, examinations continued as scheduled under the other general education boards, as well as the Madrasa Education Board and the Technical Education Board across the rest of the country.
The education authorities are expected to announce the revised schedule for the previously completed examinations at a later date.
