NU Publishes Degree 2nd Year Results in Record 42 Working Days
The National University has published the results of the Degree (Pass) and Certificate Course Second Year Examination 2024 within 42 working days after the examinations ended, marking the fastest result publication of its kind in the university's history.
According to information provided by the National University, the results were officially published on July 11, just 42 working days after the examination process was completed. Including government holidays, the total time taken was 53 days.
University authorities said the achievement reflects recent administrative reforms aimed at improving education, examination management, and student services. The institution has introduced several information technology-based systems to make administrative work more transparent, efficient, and faster.
The Degree (Pass) and Certificate Course Second Year Examination 2024 began on April 20 and ended on May 18. During the post-examination period, the country observed an uninterrupted 11-day government holiday for Eid-ul-Adha. Despite the holiday, the university completed answer script evaluation, marks compilation, data verification, and other administrative work on schedule.

A total of 197,615 students from 1,915 colleges took part in the examination at 647 centres across Bangladesh. The published results recorded an overall pass rate of 93.53%.
The university said the shorter processing time could help reduce session backlogs by allowing students to continue their academic activities without long delays.
Many students welcomed the quick publication of the results. Tahmina Akter, a second-year Degree student of Siddheshwari College in Dhaka, said students had previously waited much longer for results. She said receiving the results earlier would help them prepare for the next academic year and plan their studies more effectively.
Abid Islam, a student of Rajshahi College, also expressed satisfaction. He said he had not expected the results to be published so quickly after the long Eid holiday. According to him, the faster result publication will help students move ahead with plans for higher education and job preparation without losing valuable time.
National University Controller of Examinations Md. Enamul Karim said every stage of the post-examination process followed a planned schedule. He said answer script evaluation, marks compilation, information verification, and result preparation were completed through coordinated efforts despite the extended government holiday. He added that the university aims to publish examination results even more quickly in the future while maintaining accuracy.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A. S. M. Amanullah said publishing accurate results within 42 working days reflects the university's commitment to building a modern, dynamic, and student-friendly higher education system. He said the achievement demonstrates the institution's administrative capacity, transparency, and coordinated work, adding that efforts to provide timely, technology-based services for students will continue.
